1. Identify a Training Area.
Graduate training is divided into five training areas: clinical, cognition & neuroscience, developmental, quantitative, and social & personality. Each graduate student is affiliated with an area. Explore the Areas to see if one is right for you.
2. Identify Potential Faculty Mentors.
The Department of Psychological Sciences follows a mentorship model: graduate students work with specific faculty in specific labs. Explore the Faculty and Labs section of the Areas pages. Look for a good fit between your research goals and our faculty. A careful selection of potential faculty mentors is an important part of the application process.
