Chances of Admission

Fifty percent of recently admitted students had a undergraduate GPA of 3.68 to 3.73. The middle range of GRE scores was Verbal (560 to 630), Quantitative (640 to 710) and Analytical Writing (5 to 5.5). The mean score in the GRE Psychology subject test was 640.

For Fall Semester 2007, 217 students applied and 33 were offered admissions. Of those offered admissions, an average of 13 applicants accept our offer to join the program. For Fall 2007, there were 104 applicants to the Clinical area and 28 to the joint Clinical/Developmental area. Cognition and Neuroscience received 30 applicants, Developmental 10, Quantitative 9 and Social/Personality 35. We currently have 85 students pursuing the PhD; 32 Clinical, 7 Clinical/Developmental, 20 Cognition and Neuroscience, 5 Developmental, 5 Quantitative, and 16 Social/Personality doctoral students.

Since most applicants are recently graduated psychology majors, so too are most of the students admitted. However, this is not a requirement.

The above information is presented to allow you to evaluate your chances of admission. As noted above, if you are uncertain, we would recommend submitting an application. We would be pleased to review it.
