Sara E. Mijares

Sara E. Mijares completed her B.A. (2007) in psychology at the University of Missouri

Sara is currently in her third year of graduate school (on the way towards a PhD in clinical-community psychology) at the University of South Carolina. Her research is in the area of health psychology, working with Dr. Dawn Wilson and the Obesity Research Group. This group is currently working on two NIH-funded grants aimed at increasing physical activity in underserved (ethnic minority, low-income) adolescents and adults throughout the state of South Carolina. Sara was recently named the "Intervention Coordinator" for one of our projects, Positive Action for Today's Health (PATH).

On a personal note, in May 2009, Sara married John St. George - whom she met while teaching salsa at Mizzou.
