Graduate Student Earns Mitchell Smith Summer Fellowship

Josephine Mitchell Smith trained under Max Meyer and her research focused on the sensory abilities of the blind.  In particular, a book that she published on Braille was widely cited and helped guide clinicians and educators in its use.  Dr. Smith served as interim head of the department of Psychology in 1929, and her niece endowed a fund that provides awards to graduate students in the Department of Psychological Sciences.

Graduate student Coutney Gann will receive a summer fellowship.  Courtney is an outstanding student who will use the summer support to help her with her research scholarship and continued progress toward degree completion.
