Research Interests:

I'm primarily interested in using terror management theory to explore how, why, and when existential concerns about death and the body influence attitudes and behaviors toward outgroups. Specifically, I have looked at the effect of death reminders on identification of outgroup behaviors and responses to ingroup/outgroup natural disasters. Another research interest is how conceptual metaphors influence health and political decision making. Finally, I am interested in public/community health, particularly among American Indians.
