Psychology Graduate Student Handbook
The Graduate Student Handbook is a guide for graduate students in the Department of Psychological Sciences. It contains information on departmental procedures and regulations. Students who entered the program in earlier years should refer to that year’s version of the Handbook for information on policies and course requirements that apply to them.
Degree Progression Forms
In addition to the Graduate Student Handbook, which presents departmental requirements, the Graduate School should be consulted for general campus requirements. Official forms required by the Graduate School may be downloaded from the Graduate School website,
- Office of Graduate Studies Policies - Dissertation and masters submission guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Office of Graduate Studies Forms - M and D forms, thesis and dissertation guidelines.
Students who enter the program with a master's degree from another university may satisfy the master’s degree requirement at MU by having their thesis and course work approved by a three-member committee. The Approval of Thesis from Another University form should be completed and submitted to the Director of Graduate Studies.
Thesis/Dissertation Research Support Application
The department will, as budget availability permits, provide fiscal support for grdauate students' thesis and dissertation research. The Graduate Thesis/Dissertation Research Grant Application form should be completed and submitted to the Director of Graduate Studies.
Travel Award Application
As budget availability permits, the department provides funding for graduate students to attend conferences and workshops, in which they are presenting their research. Funds may also be used to cover travel expenses related to internships. The Graduate Travel Award Application form should be completed and submitted to the Director of Graduate Studies.
