Curators’ Distinguished Professor of Psychological Sciences Laura A. King has been inducted into the Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP) Heritage Wall. This recognition honors King's contributions to the field of personality and social psychology, as well as her dedication to mentorship and leadership.
King’s research focuses on well-being, meaning in life, and how people understand and pursue "The Good Life." Her work emphasizes everyday people and their experiences. With over 100 publications, Dr. King's scholarly impact places her among the top 1% of social psychologists worldwide.
Dr. King’s induction also highlights her commitment to supporting the next generation of scholars. She became the first woman to edit the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology: Personality Processes and Individual Differences and is known for her vocal support of continued diversity in the field.
