Currently, there are two types of reading groups. These include a diversity journal club and IDE book groups. The journal club meets every other week, during academic semesters. The group typically reads one or more journal articles that explore topics related to diversity and multiculturalism in the field of psychology.

Participants are typically faculty members, graduate students, and postdoctoral students. Contact Dr. Denis McCarthy (mccarthydm@missouri.edu) to receive regular announcements of readings and meetings.

The book clubs are informal groups, with four or five members of the department, typically including faculty members, graduate students, postdoctoral students, and staff members. Each group reads selected books to explore topics such as racism, sexism, patriarchy, and intersectionality. Contact Dr. Susan O’Neill (oneills@missouri.edu ) if you are interested in joining a book group.
